ANDREA RAGONESI AND EMANUEL CUCCHIARA ARE THE NEW WORLD 5-PINS CHAMPIONS

The great event in Venaria Reale reached its final act yesterday night.
Earlier in the afternoon the young Emanuel Cucchiara, reigning CEB U21 5-Pins champion, graduated as the first ever World 5-Pins Junior Champion after an exciting match against the CPB U21 champion from Argentina, Santino Lopez, with the score of 3-2. Flavio Piccolomini and Massimo Montechiesa took the bronze medals.

The last match of the senior championship was an incredible fight between the defending champion Andrea Quarta and the young Andrea Ragonesi (26) playing at home. Ragonesi is a strong player but could be defined an outsider, he reached the final unbeaten starting from the European selection and winning 19 matches. In the final Quarta started very well and Ragonesi was behind (3-1), then he begun to play a fantastic billiard and left no chances to the veteran and multiple champion Quarta. Ragonesi won the next three sets and he could finally celebrate his first World Title in front of his own enthusiastic fans. Bronze medal were awarded to Camilo Gomez and Ciro Davide Rizzo, both from Italy.
